Client C

A medical doctor that specialises in airline medicals on behalf of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) wanted some software to complete the numerous forms and certificate supplied by the CAA for which there were no programs available. Aircrew complained at having to fill in their details at every visit (as much as twice a year), the CAA complained about unreadable handwriting and the administrators wanted to have the forms pre-prepared in order to alleviate the waiting room.

Solution

Act! was installed and templates created to exactly match the boxes for standard data like name, address, CAA Reference number and date of birth etc. A dot matrix printer was attached to ensure all parts of the forms printed together. The results are perfectly completed forms that can be prepared in advance using basic information from previous visits now stored in the Act! database.

In addition, the system was set up to create reminders for pilots to let them know when their medical is due for renewal. The calendar facility allowed the staff to book patients in and everyone on the network then had access to the diary immediately. This saved them hunting for the appointments diary each time the phone rang.

Having booked in the patients, the task list is printed each day for the doctor to take into his surgery and check each patient as they attend.

Whether your organisation uses custom forms or supplied forms from another body, Act! can adapt to complete them professionally. Not only forms such as described above but certificates or vouchers can be created in a similar fashion.
